Remoterig IC-R2500 working yes/no ?
« on: 2010-10-10, 15:12:35 »
I see several remarks in this forum that the Icom R2500 is not working correctly with Remoterig.
(some of them unfortunately in Swedish ;-)
Before making cables, could anyone shed a light?
Is the R2500 working if connected by the RRC manual?

Hi Mike,

There is an "Ubbe" in the Swedish section of this forum saying you shouldn't use the TTL port but the AUX/MIC port instead.
And there is a Greek user also saying to have problems , with the on/off switch?

But if you have a R2500 yourself and working via TTL, I'll start making cables :-)
IC703 works fb...

Hello Mike,

I connected the R2500 as per the manual, but the R2500 will not power up.
This is also what Ubbe stated in the past, but it is unclear what the solution is.
I don't understand the alternative cabling via the AUX/MIC bus.

He said RRC MK1 did work but MK2 doesn't work over the TTL ports.

Hi

I must have forgot to update the website when I tested IC-R2500 almost a year ago.

Now I have done it today. The picture is still the old one but the drawings and strappings are OK

Okay Mike,

Ubbe has mailed me the workaround using the R2500 via the AUX/MIC bus on pin 2/7.
That should work.

With TTL connections in the diagram R2500 doesn't power up.

No

as the drawings shows the cables should be connected to the AUX/MIC with a RJ45 connector

But Mike,
The drawings show 6pin-to-6pin, not RJ45 (8pin) !
I'm getting more and more lost here :-)
