7100 connections
« on: 2020-07-05, 16:53:24 »
Hello!
I am having a connectivity issue.

Just purchased an IC-7100 for the sole purpose of remote operations.
I am using the 1258M mod in the control and have checked and rechecked all jumpers and straps.
Both boxes are on the same network and are connected via ethernet,  I can browse/configure them both.
The head unit of the 7100 is connected to the aux/mic port of the control module. The radio is connecting accordingly.

Nothing happens when I press the power button on the 7100 control head.
I'm thinking that I have a configuration issue but I am not sure where else to look.

I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks
Doug

Doug,

The most common cause of that problem within the same network is the control RRC's SIP contact
has the wrong IP number in it. You must use the radio RRC's internal IP number to make it work.

I have a networking checklist available that covers this as well as the full installation of a system.
if you want it, just drop me a short mail to dj0qn (at) darc (dot) de and I will send it to you.

Does anyone have a working 7100 who might be willing to compare notes?

I have followed the instructions from the manual several times. I've reset the units and started over.
I also followed Mitch's (Mitch DJ0QN / K7DX) to the letter and still no joy.
Mitch I think i've troubled you enough :)

Both the LAN method as well as USB were tried.  Cables have been tested as were the jumpers.
I am missing something.

Help please.  Not sure where else to look.

Thanks in advance,
Doug

Doug,

Let me take a look using Teamviewer when you have a chance. I am available some afternoons (EDT).

I STAND CORRECTED!
Mitch (DJ0QN / K7DX) took all of 2 minutes to pinpoint the one value where I did not follow his instructions.
All is working well and Mitch even gave me a quick tutorial on my next steps.

Thank you for your gracious help
