Can't connect after swapping routers
« on: 2020-08-11, 14:25:30 »
Good day all,

I recently replaced the Asus RT-N66 router at my remote site with an IQrouter V3. I have set up ports 13000-13002 to forward to the Remote Rig (passing any kind of packet, not just UDP) but whenever I try to connect from my Control unit I get a SIP error, Unknown(1).

Any thoughts about what I haven't configured correctly in the IQrouter?

Hi Paul,

It can only be one of two things:

1) You made the port forwards in the new router incorrectly or there is another router problem.

2) You didn't change the internal IP number in the RRC to match the new router's subnet/NAT.
It is easiest just to switch to DHCP and then fix that address in the router. Some routers
refuse to forward ports for IP addresses that they did not issue.

Hello Mitch,

I'm pretty sure I have ports 13000-13002 forwarded in the router properly.

I did not change the IP address of the RR box and I kept the same subnet in the router.

I'll keep plugging away....

Hi Paul,

Then I would change the RRC to DHCP and change the port forward to its new IP address and
see if that works.
