4G connection problem
« on: 2026-01-05, 12:17:51 »
Hello and  thank you for taking the time to read me,

I use RRC1258mkii with a TS480.
Everything works fine on LAN, I installed the wifi module I had on hand.
The wifi works well at home.
However, I can't get my equipment to work using my 4-5 GHz phone. If I use my phone to share my local Wi-Fi, it works.
So I bought a mobile router, but it still doesn't work.
I used another GSM operator and still nothing.
On the radio side: Freebox revolution with fiber.
Control panel: Samsung S24 phone, 5GHz SIM card , 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, DHCP ok
Or Netgear M3 MH3150 router, Free 5GHz SIM
Or Netgear M3 MH3150 router, Orange SIM GHz
I don't know what to do anymore, can you help me?

Sincerely
Philippe F6DQZ

Hi Philippe,

Mobile network operators use CGNAT. Are you sure that your companies are not using this system? If so, it'll be impossible to establish a connection between your radio and control sides. Check this.

I use an internet network provided by a local company. Although my internet uses LTE, I have a fixed public IP address because my ISP uses CGNAT. Perhaps this is the problem you are experiencing.

Kind regards,
Luis, EC5A

Hello Luis,

Thank you for your reply.
On the Radio (RRC) site, I have a static IPv4 address, and according to what I've read in the microbit documentation, using CGN for the Control (RRC) part doesn't pose any problems when using DHCP.
It's not clear what I should do.
