PTT from logging SW
« on: 2011-08-05, 08:19:12 »
Hi there!

I'd like to get PTT from logging SW via USB RTS, but so far with no success.

So what I have here, is latest FW and MB Setup Manager. RRC is connected to PC with both, CAT and USB cables. Radio control works fine via CAT and MB Setup Manager as well as Windows system manager shows the USB connection and virtual COM ports.

From RRC control I/O tab I've set USB RTS as PTT to COM0 and checked from PC system manager that RRC COM 0 equals to PC COM 4.

From logging SW I've set COM 4 RTS as PTT. But when setting TX on from logging SW, I get no PTT to remote radio.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or what might be the case?

I could be wrong but there is no hardware between the radio (ptt) and the I/O port
I think it needs hardware connection like optocoupler or transistor to switch it.
