There is no config in the K3/0 Mini (other than firmware). What ever config you do from the panel of the K3/0 Mini while connected will be config of the K3. If you have configured fP.H while connected this is the error. From the control site you must configure K3 for rP.H pressing Config on the K3/0 Mini while connected.

One explanation could be that the Apple hotspot has longer connection time to the internet and the V71A panel is sensitive to timing issues during power on. If that is the case a solution might be using another portable hotspot using 4G LTE.

Hvis det er internetopkoblingen som tager tid kan forbindelsen holdes åben med en ping f.eks. fra programmet Pingplotter eller en ping fra en DOS boks.

Pingplotter er i øvrigt godt til at fejlsøge svartider på nettet.

General / Re: Workaround for tone doesn't work
« on: 2018-01-17, 14:12:43 »
Nano via repeater with subtones works on my IC-7100. I put the QRG with subtone in a memory using the front panel and leave the IC-7100 on that memory. I can change band with the Nano and when I select the band with the repeater memory it is ready for a repeater QSO. However I cant change memory on that band so I an locked to one repeater on that band. Thus access to memories and subtones is still much needed.

Request for memory, tones and antenna tuner with Nano had been on this forum for several years, but it seems RemoteRig does not maintain or develop Nano.

Det er nemmere at koble SignalLink på control RRC eller remote head og så køre FT8 på en pc der hvor du sidder dvs. på control stedet. Det gør jeg med en IC7100.

K3/0-Mini has a built in USB sound card, see
The K3/0-Mini comes with everything required for interfacing to a PC via USB connection.

The K3-Remote Owner's Manual's%20Manual%20%20Rev%20D.pdf says in the chapter: Loading K3/0-Mini USB Drivers

        Manual Driver Installation
        Three drivers are required:
 USB audio CODEC (Included in Windows OS and should load automatically).

I have been told on the Elecraft mailing list that Audio In and Audio Out is reversed in the K3/0-Mini USB sound card. This means the K3/0-Mini USB sound card does not work with Remoterig boxes. It seems that Elecraft is not going to correct this error.

I have considered using two Virtual Audio Cables to criss cross Audio In and Out, but so far this does not work. However Google is still my friend...

General discussion forum / Re: NANO APP ANDROID FOR KENWOOD
« on: 2017-11-13, 20:35:55 »
I and others have similar problems with Nano Icom and Nano Elecraft, see

Quite often my Nano apps shows the valid licence red and then after some time the app ends with 'stopped working'. After restarting the app the licence code is green as it should be.

It seems the Remoterig folks pay no attention to these old problems with the Nano apps.

My Icom remote site works with my IC-7100 control panel and the Elecraft site works with my K3/0 Mini.

Configuration, RRC 1258 / Re: TS-480 VOX
« on: 2017-11-10, 15:09:53 »
See page 64 in the Users Manual:

RTP Tx Mode Control-RRC:
If VOX will be used switch on this function. It means that the audio stream is sent continuously from the Control-RRC to the Radio-RRC.

General / Re: RRC nano kenwood & android 7.0 is not working?
« on: 2017-11-06, 23:15:08 »
I have similar problems with nano Elecraft and Icom 1.5.0 on HTC 10 Android 7.0, see

When I start Nano Elecraft 1.5.0  and connect I get the sound from the K3 within a few seconds. However none of the controls in the Nano app on the VFO page works and neither RX S-meter nor VFO frequencies are displayed. Sometimes after 4-5 minutes the controls starts to work. However after turning the VFO the VFO frequency is displayed as a difference like 2.90 or -0000.000.001 It is now possible to press and hold where the frequency should be displayed and then the box for entering a frequency is displayed. After entering a frequency it is displayed correct and turning the VFO in the app changes the A-frequency as expected. Pressing A/B and then press and hold where the frequency should be displayed let me enter a frequency in the B-VFO, which then is displayed in line B. Now the app is more or less usable, however RX S-meter still only shows -- and BW is grayed out and does not work. Mode button works but the selected Mode is not displayed. Band button works, but the indicated frequency is not changed in the app.

The Remoterig folks should really look into these old problems.

There have been several requests for having the important Tune button for the antenna tuner in the nano app and setting Tone is needed in order to work VHF/UHF repeaters remote with Icom 7100.

General discussion forum / Re: How to change MAC adr of RRC
« on: 2017-10-18, 18:26:31 »
Tnx Mike, but I know that the MAC adr of the network card in a pc can be changed by some hacker software. Seems I should look for that if I want to test my idea. Later today I move to Marriot San Ramon where I can experience what what tricks is needed to use their wifi.

Control RRC should have a built in browser so it can be used to login to a free wifi.

Hello John,

I delete all temporary files once in a while. If you don't want to do it by hand CC Cleaner among others will do it.

General discussion forum / Re: RRC MICRO PC CLIENT
« on: 2017-10-18, 18:02:55 »
Dyn DNS is for the remote site. As I understand it you get "Password not accepted" from your PC MICRO client, thus the password you have entered in the RRC MICRO PC CLIENT does not match the one in the remote RRC: Radio settings -> Sip password. Its default is hello.

General discussion forum / How to change MAC adr of RRC
« on: 2017-10-18, 17:00:05 »

I am in a hotel in San Francisco for Pacificon and want the change the MAC address of my remote RRC to match the one in my pc. However MAC adr is greyed out in the Microbit Setup Manager Setup info. Any way to change the MAC address of the RRC?

My idea is to logon the hotel wifi from the pc and then move its Ethernet cable from the pc to the RRC hoping that the hotel wifi will keep that MAC adr logged on. After that I plan not use the pc before next logon.

If that does not work I will do the usual trick with Internet Connection Sharing on the pc.
