General / Nano Codec selection
« on: 2015-09-28, 13:30:37 »
What codec does the Nano use when connecting back to the Radio RRC?  Does it matter what codec is used between the radio/control rrc's?

I prefer #11 for home network use, but am curious what network bandwidth is used when I'm on my cellular network?

I would like to configure an ICOM IC-2820 with dual receive.  It would seem there may be a couple of ways to accomplish this task - looking for advice:

Option 1 - Allow independent front AF per Left/Right
Configure “Audio dual-rx” to YES
Build custom 3.5mm cables:
   Cable #1:  IC-2820 to Radio-RRC
SP-1 TIP & Ground to Radio-RRC Speaker TIP & Ground
SP-2 RING & Ground to Radio-RRC Speaker Ring & Ground

   Cable #2:  Control-RRC
Control-RRC Speaker TIP & Ground to +/- (Left) External Speaker
Control-RRC Speaker RING & Ground to +/- (Right) External Speaker

Option #2 - Use IC-2820 Mixer for “combined” audio
Configure “Audio dual-rx” to YES
Connect 3.5mm stereo plug between Radio-RRC and IC-2820 SP-1

Build custom 3.5mm cable:
   Cable #1:  Control-RRC
Control-RRC Speaker TIP & Ground to +/- (Left) External Speaker
Control-RRC Speaker RING & Ground to +/- (Right) External Speaker
