Hardware, Cabling, Installations / WiFi-interface for RRC-1258 MkII
« Last post by HB9BJL on 2025-07-02, 09:29:59 »
Hello all,

I am trying to find a WiFi Interface for the RRC-1258 MkII control unit as in the manual, page 87.
One is sufficient, but I would take two as well.
The idea is to use the control unit in a caravan and to avoid the LAN cable to the router.
I believe it is a RedPine Signals RS9113 module. Are there any compatible WiFi modules available ?

any help is highly appreciated.

« Last post by SV8CS-Spiros on 2025-06-21, 12:43:50 »
Hi Using for years the remote Rig with TS-2000 and all is OK. Now the same boxes I like to use with D-700. Working well except the audio from Microfon. All the other functions are OK. Any Help?

You do not need that cable, just make this simple cabe and connect ecerything but the panel to the Control-RRC

I would like to purchase an Elecraft 'Octopus Cable' for connection between the Elecraft K3/0-Mini and the RemoteRig RRC-1258 MkII interface box.

Hardware, Cabling, Installations / Re: CW Pot Not Working?

Thanks!

Good to have confirmation that the pot is 10k linear.

I posted a photo of the apparently-failed pot in another post, and have added it here as well.

Hardware, Cabling, Installations / Replacement Part: RRC-1258 CW Pot?
« Last post by K8ND on 2025-06-17, 23:08:18 »
The problem I had with adjusting CW speed on my RRC-1258 MkII appears to be a failed potentiometer, which shows physical signs of damage.

It is marked "103A, 437C". See the photo.

Can someone here identify a replacement part?

I installed the Microbit Setup Manager software (version 2.06) on my Windows 11 laptop. During the installation, my screen was filled with eight instances of a popup that said:

"A driver cannot load on this device, Driver: ftvspenum.sys"

The same popup now occurs whenever the laptop is booted.

The Setup Manager seems to work OK, but I am having some issues with the RRC1258 (CW pot not working, IP address not always retained across power cycles).

Anyone else have similar experience with Windows 11 and Setup Manager WRT 'ftvspenum.sys'? Suggestions?

Hardware, Cabling, Installations / CW Pot Not Working?

New installation of a recently-purchased used RRC-1258 MKII box. Cloned the configuration from the remote terminal I've been using for several years. Everything seems to work, but the CW Pot does not change the CW speed. Paddle is plugged into the RRC1258 box, and CW is sent well, but only at a fixed speed.

CW speed seems to be fixed at whatever speed is entered in the 'Speed pot min wpm (5-99)' field of the 'Keyer Setup'. 'Speed pot max' is set to 40 wpm.

If I start N1MM+, it initially correctly shows the speed currently configured as the minimum wpm (and being sent by paddle), but it does not affect the actual speed of the keyer when adjusted up or down.

From the 'Info' panel:
HW   8
Software   2.95
Bootloader   1.10
Compiler   4.6.2
